Amy Winehouse Died By Lack Of The Alcohol

The tragic musician was found dead in her flat on Saturday afternoon by her bodyguard, with police determining the reason for death as ‘unexplained’ while they wait for toxicology test results to come through.
But those nearest and dearest to the talented star, who had a long-running battle with drink and drugs during her career, feel Amy's fatal end came as she ignored doctor’s advice to wean herself off alcohol gradually.

The resultant shock to her system ended up having a disastrous effect on her tiny 4ft 11in body.

A source close to the Winehouse family told The Sun: ‘Abstinence gave her body such a fright they thought it was eventually the cause of her death.’

A private funeral service was held for the Rehab signer on Tuesday in which up to 400 close friends and family members attended before a smaller number went on to Golders Green crematorium.

During the service, her father Mitch gave a moving eulogy in which he insisted his daughter, whom he had a very close relationship with, had managed to beat drugs and had been clean for three years.
He added that she had been on a mission to combat her demons over her heavy drinking.

Amy reportedly told him: ‘Dad, I’ve had enough of drinking – I can’t stand the look on your and the family’s faces anymore.’

It seems Mitch was desperate to rubbish claims Amy had been on a 36-hour drinks and drugs binge, as was reported after her death, with the family source adding: 'He wanted everyone to know that he, her boyfriend and her manager believed it was actually the complete opposite.

'He said doctors had told Amy to gradually reduce her intake of alcohol and to avoid binging at all costs. Amy told him she couldn't do that.
'It was all or nothing and she gave up completely.

'Mitch said the shock of giving up, after everything she had been through over a bad few years, was just too much for her to take.'

However, it has emerged that despite her three weeks off the booze, Amy was spotted knocking back shots of gin mixed with energy drink Red Bull on the Wednesday before she died.

That was the same night she joined her goddaughter Dionne Bromfield on stage at the iTunes festival held at Camden Roundhouse.

However, Amy’s mum Janis and boyfriend Reg Traviss met up with Amy the day before she was found dead and have insisted she didn’t seem to have been drinking at all.

Meanwhile, Amy's junkie ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil has contradicted claims she was clean and has insisted he could have 'saved' her from killing herself with substance abuse.

The former music video assistant, who is serving time in jail for burglary and possession of an imitation firearm, told his father Larry Fielder, while 'crying hysterically', that he wanted to stage an intervention to save his former flame.

Blake was banned from Amy's funeral because he was not granted compassionate leave from prison.
