Smoking Rihanna Falls Foul Of Farmer While Filming Video In Ireland

Chart-topper Rihanna may have looked stunning and sultry while filming her latest music video in a field in Northern Ireland - but the smoking star wasn't flavour of the month with the local farming community.

The 23-year-old singer was spotted having the sneaky cigarette during a break in filming the video for We Found Love, her collaboration with dance music producer Calvin Harris.

And she also raised the ire of a local farmer, who deemed her choice of attire 'inappropriate' and said he'd never even heard of her.

The clip had been filmed in a field near Bangor, County Down, ahead of Rihanna's three concerts in Belfast later this week.

And she braved the autumn weather in some revealing outfits during the shoot - including a black cropped jumper and unbuttoned jeans, as well as a red bikini and oversized cowboy shirt plus a red and white striped bikini over a denim waistcoat with a US flag design.

Filming is said to have brought traffic to a standstill in the area, with hundreds of motorists and fans trying to catch a glimpse of the singer.

Others reportedly gathered by the roadside to watch the filming, with locals recording footage on their camera phones.

However, not everybody appeared to be a fan of the Barbados-born singer.

BBC News reports that the farmer who owns the field and gave permission for the shoot to take place there ordered Rihanna to cover up after seeing her skimpy outfits.

DUP Alderman Alan Graham - who said he saw the filming when he went to fetch his tractor - described the singer's clothing as 'inappropriate'.

'I requested them to stop filming and they did,' he said. 'I had my conversation with Rihanna and I hope she understands where I'm coming from. We shook hands.'

He admitted he had never heard of the singer, and had no idea who would be turning up when he received a phone call last week requesting permission for use of the field.

'I didn't know who was coming,' the farmer admitted. 'If the name Rihanna had been mentioned,
well no disrespect but it wouldn't have meant anything.'

We Found Love, which debuted online for the first time last week, is already number 3 on the US iTunes chart.

The singer, who is due to play London's O2 Arena next week followed by a string of dates across the UK, recently announced that her new album will be released in November.
