Chaloner greeted guests, joking that “when staying in the Hamptons, the last place you would want to be is in a hospital!” He went on to say, “However, if you are ill, you will not find a better local hospital to take care of you. In the last several years, Southampton Hospital has completely renovated and expanded critical departments, including our Jenny and John Paulson Emergency Department, the Ellen Hermanson Breast Center, the Kathleen D. Allen Maternity Center and the Ed & Phyllis Davis Wellness Institute among other areas. Supporters like you have enabled quality healthcare in the Hamptons.”

The time-honored tradition supports the Hospital’s Jenny and John Paulson Emergency Department, which was named after the Paulsons in recognition of their generous support. The emergency department serves more than 25,000 residents and visitors annually on Long Island’s South Fork. Attendees danced the night away to the magical and memorable music of The Alex Donner Orchestra in a tropical getaway created by renowned interior designer Tony Urrutia. The night was an elegant and tasteful affair, catered by Robbins Wolfe Eventeurs, and included a raffle and silent auction with enticing items, among them a $25,000 cash prize, a trip to Paris, a Tiffany & Co. clutch, and an Oscar De La Renta handbag.

ABOUT THE JENNY AND JOHN PAULSON

EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT

Southampton Hospital treats more than 25,000 people annually in the Jenny and John Paulson Emergency Department. In fact, in the months of July and August it receives more emergency visits than some New York City hospitals. Its board-certified Emergency Medicine physicians and specialty-trained staff are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to treat a full spectrum of patient accidents and illnesses from minor cuts to heart complications. Southampton Hospital is the ambulance destination when a heart attack or stroke is suspected because it has the most sophisticated, non-invasive cardiac diagnostic and monitoring technology available, and is a New York State-designated Stroke Center. Awarded the HealthGrades Patient Safety Award™ in 2008 and 2010, Southampton Hospital is an affiliate of the Stony Brook University Medical Center, a member of the East End Health Alliance, and is accredited by the Joint Commission.
