The car in question is of the era that showed the auto world some of its best creations. Featuring a convertible hard top design, the car had quite a lot packed into its 1897 cc engine, which could the vehicle up to 171 km/ph of top speed. The transmission was controlled through a 4-speed manual gearing, with full synchronization. On the interiors, it featured single piece bucket leather seats, Perspex windscreen and aluminum doors. It first came into production in 1955 as a prototype and went on to produce more than 25,000 of them till it was stopped for production in 1963. Sheryl Crow’s 1959 version, other than being a classic car will also be hopefully raising for a good cause, and it has been ensured that the buying it over are given things to remember the occasion by. They were presented with 2 tickets to Sheryl’s next performance, a Gibson guitar belonging to her and also a photo opportunity with her.
However, as per estimates the car was supposed to fetch between $50,000-80,000 but the enthusiasm ended up taking the winning bid to $130,000, the same amount which was also donated towards Joplin schools.
