Domino's Pizza Plans Restaurant On The Moon

Construction firm Maeda Corp estimates the Domino's project will cost around £13.4billion - £4.5bn of which will go towards transporting 70 tons of building material and pizza-making equipment to outer space aboard 15 rockets.
Domino's reckons it will keep costs down by using the Moon's own mineral deposits to make the concrete for the two-storey restaurant, where staff will be expected to live.

'We started thinking about this project last year, although we have not yet determined when the restaurant might open,' a spokesperson for the pizza chain told the Daily Telegraph.

'In the future, we anticipate there will be many people living on the moon, astronauts who are working there and in the future, citizens of the moon.'

In 2001, rival chain Pizza Hut delivered some grub to astronauts orbiting the Earth in the International Space Station. Think it's safe to say the Domino's plan slightly beats that one - only if it takes off, mind.
