It's been conjectured that Harry is really the result of Diana's adulterous affair with James Hewitt, and not the biological son of Prince Charles. Prince William does resemble Charles more than his younger brother Harry, and as People mag pointed out years ago, both Harry and James are gingers. But while this rumor persists, it's never gone beyond rumor.
Peter OrsagShipping magnate heiress Claire Milonas bore the daughter of her ex-boyfriend, White House budget director Peter Orsag in November 2009. Although the two parents were no longer together at the time of the birth, and Orsag was engaged to someone else, Orsag issued a statement about the birth saying they were both thrilled and asking for the baby's privacy.
Prince Albert of MonacoIn 2005 at age 47, dashing Prince Albert acknowledged a love child by a former flight attendant from Togo. That's in addition to the 14-year-old daughter he acknowledged in 2006, the result of an affair with a former waitress. In July 2011, the longtime bachelor wed amid unverified internet rumors of a third love child.
Strom ThurmondIsn't it great when an old-school bigot gets caught with his pants down? Too bad segregation supporter Senator Strom Thurmond was already dead six months when the 78-year-old interracial daughter he fathered out of wedlock went public with her story. Even more scandalous: her mother was his family's black maid.
John EdwardsJohn Edwards and his name pretty much became mud in the public eye in 2010 when he admitted to having conducted an affair while running for President-- all while his wife was battling terminal cancer. The baby mama turned out to be Rielle Hunter, a documentarian trailing his campaign. Worse were the initial denials and an elaborate cover-up: Edwards' assistant, Andrew Young, himself a married father of three, initially claimed paternity of the baby girl.
Jesse JacksonIn 2001, the 59-year-old Reverend Jesse Jackson, who has five children with his wife of more than four decades, confessed that he had fathered a baby daughter during an affair with a one-time staffer 20 years his junior.
Thomas JeffersonPresident Thomas Jefferson may have had a love child with his fair-skinned slave, Sally Hemings, his wife's half-sister. This union may have resulted in more than one illegitimate child. Arnold SchwarzeneggerEveryone knows about Governator Arnold Schwarzenegger and his affair with his family's housekeeper, Patty Baena, that resulted in illegitimate son Joseph, now 13. The revelation reportedly led to Ahnuld's separation and divorce proceedings from his longtime wife, Maria Shriver, a member of the Kennedy clan.
Vito FossellaIt wasn't a great year for Representative Vito Fossella in 2008. He followed up a DWI arrest and his resignation from Congress with the announcement that he'd fathered a three-year-old child in an affair with retired Air Force colonel Laura Fay. The dirty laundry came out after Fossella was blew twice the legal blood-alcohol limit at a traffic stop, then called Fay to pick him up from the Alexandria, VA police station.
