As many as 5,154 bidders contended for 7,370 lots that translated into a remarkable sell-through rate of 91% by total lot value, and 95% by total lots.
The major sum of total auction price came from a very rare 1855, $3 gold PR64 Cameo NGC, CAC coin that was sold for $1,322,500, was the top-selling lot of Heritage Auction’s Signature US Coin & Platinum Night Auctions.

 Apart from the number one selling coin, next in the race was Norweb and Jack Lee Collection 1893-S Morgan Silver Dollar, MS67 NGC that was sold for $546,250. The third in the row was Deep Cameo PCGS, CAC 1863 $10 PR65 that fetched $299,000. Rest three coins are the 1796- $2.50 No Stars MS61 PCGS, CAC, an 1855-S Seated Liberty Half Dollar PR65 and an 1855-S $0.25 Arrows PR64 NGC, CAC, each went sold for $276,000.
As stated by the President at the Heritage Auctions, “These are great results with strong showings in every corner of the market. Collectors are continuing to come to Heritage to pursue the top rarities that we gather for each auction, and non-traditional buyers are looking to temper their portfolios against the tumult of world financial markets. The combination resulted in final figures that were nothing short of remarkable.”

After the success of this US Coin & Platinum Night Auction in Chicago, Heritage which is the world’s third largest auction house with the annual sales of $700 million, is all set for Heritage’s September Long Beach World Coin Auction, that will offer a range of luxurious collector’s items. Coins like Korean numismatic rarities and Rare Chinese coin are expected to fetch more than 1.5 million each. Rare coin collectors may also go through our list of World’s most expensive coins.
