Born in Andria, a city in the South of Italy, Domenico Vacca learned the principles of Italian sartorial style at a very young age from his grandmother, who was considered one of the finest seamstresses in Italy. Despite a successful career in law, Vacca found himself repeatedly drawn back to the fashion industry. He noticed that there was a distinct lack of true Italian clothing in the United States; most Italian brands would alter their styles or fit upon sending their designs overseas.
