Amy WinehouseAmy Winehouse has been found dead in her London home, Sky News has reported. The Daily Mail also is reporting that police have confirmed the very sad news. In a statement, the London Metropolitan Police said, "Police were called by London Ambulance Service to an address in Camden Square NW1 shortly before 16.05hrs today, following reports of a woman who was deceased. On the police arrival, they found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene. She's battled drug addiction for years, having most recently checked back into rehabilitation in May. Winehouse entered treatment in late 2007 for drug problems, including heroin use.
Editor James Edstrom's Note: I have very mixed feelings about Amy Winehouse's death. She was so talented and she was so blessed. I just do not understand why someone who has had such success in her career, would act the way she has acted over the years. Her drunken and drugged out binges made headlines for years. Winehouse was given everything in life and she threw it away like a common street whore. She was able to make the world smile, she was able to make money and she was able to live the life of a queen, yet she threw it all away to live the life of a drug addict. Am I sad about her dying, yes. She was so talented, but she acted like a spoiled child to treat life the way she did. I am angry that someone that was given so much in life, threw it all away. She may have brought smiles with her music all over the world, but she gave nothing to make the world better. People are starving, people are dying every day of Aids and many other diseases , yet she only cared about herself. She only cared about her drugs. I can not remember anything she did to help the people of this world. When you are given such talent and you are able to make so much money, you have a responsibility to give back to the world, and from where I stand, all I see is that she was a spoiled child who only cared about herself and her drugs. Should we morn Winehouse, maybe yes or maybe no. She gave the world beautiful music, but I think she took more than she gave. Winehouse was just a drug addict. You can be poor and you can be rich, a drug addict is a drug addict who takes from everyone around you and gives nothing back. It's a sad ending, but Winehouse should never be put on a pedestal.
