Despite financial limitations, the investments by central institutions are estimated at PLN 17 billion, including around 40 preparation-connected investments estimated at around 8 billion.
Finishing works at the National Stadium, managed by the National Sports Centre are being implemented. Near the Stadium, a joint investment of the City of Warsaw and the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, the reconstruction of Wybrzeże Szczecińskie Street is coming to an end.
The Airport Authority is finishing the modernisation of the middle and southern boarding terminals connecting both parts of the airport. This autumn, the modernisation of the runways is to be completed.
The transport network in the city is well prepared. From the airport football fans can take a modern train to get directly to the city centre and the Stadium.
Railway stations are undergoing renovation, involving major communication junctions, including Warsaw Wschodnia, Warsaw Centralna, and PKP Stadion Stations.
There are 50 modern low-floor trams of the “Swing” type operating in Warsaw. Before the championships 120 out of the 186 such vehicles from the Bydgoszcz PESA Factory will be delivered.
37km of the new ring road and two communication junctions will be constructed before the first match– an investment realised by the Warsaw City Hall – the North Bridge and the 3-level Jerozolimskie Av. – Łopuszańska St. junction.
Warsaw will provide football fans with good medical care: there are 14 000 beds in the 5 major hospitals renovated at the expense of PLN 200mln to secure proper services for the UEFA EURO 2012.
