From a woman’s perspective, guy friends are like the other kind of boyfriend. They give them something that they just can’t get out of their best female friends. There is something about having a guy friend that really appeals to a woman. Obviously though as years go by and you decide to settle down, your guy pals seem to decrease less and less. Mainly this is due to the fact that your partner takes up almost all of your spare time or it could even be jealousy. But why is it that women have the connection to male bonding?One main reason is that they can get a male point of view of things which they can discuss hours about with their female friends. Instead, they can just ask their guy friends the same question and get a 10 word explanation. It’s like gaining an insider’s perspective on how men feel and think.
Men also provide the woman with drama free relationships. For example, one of your best girl friends could be angry at you for not calling her for an entire week or not showing up to her party the other night and this could start even a month or year long argument. Guys require less attention so when a woman seeks drama free friendship, they tend to find it with their male friends. It’s also unlikely that your male friend, for example, will be jealous that you are pregnant or just got an amazing pair of earrings.
Nowadays, it is much easier to find male friends and bond with them, even circles of male friends. The coed reality in our lives and society have increased greatly allowing women to pair up with others at work, join a fantasy football team, or even join a poker night. Things that women share in common with men will allow them to easily come closer to finding a best male friend.
If you want to grab a male friend, you should be careful not to send the wrong message. For example, asking him out to dinner is very different than asking him to join you at a work out session at a gym or go for a run somewhere. A romantic connection is virtually non existent so don’t expect sitting in dark movie theatres or having a romantic candlelit dinner.
